Power Up with AdTech – A Deep Dive into App Monetization Strategies in Indonesia

On September 5th, 2024, AnyMind Group hosted an insightful event titled “Power Up with AdTech: Revenue Boost for Applications” in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event centered around the latest trends in the Indonesian app market, strategies for app monetization, and insights from the perspective of advertisers. The goal was to equip publishers with the knowledge needed to successfully grow their app businesses in this dynamic market.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Hitoshi Maruyama, Managing Director of Publisher Growth, AnyMind Group. In his opening remarks, he expressed his enthusiasm for the strong partnerships forming in the Indonesian market, highlighting the vast opportunities for growth in various business sectors that continue to attract both local and global users.

The first session was led by Priskila Ifke Goni, Senior Manager of Publishers Growth, AnyMind Group, Indonesia. She presented an in-depth analysis of the “Indonesia App Market Insights in 2024,” providing a comprehensive comparison of app downloads across different categories. She noted, “Simulation games have seen the highest number of downloads among game genres, with a year-on-year growth of 96%. In the non-gaming sector, finance apps lead with the highest downloads, showing a slight year-on-year increase.” She also discussed how publishers can leverage tools like Firebase for profitability control and optimize ad units to enhance user experience and boost revenue.

Next, Andhika Sarasono, Senior Manager of Account Strategy, AnyMind Group shared valuable insights from the advertiser’s perspective. He focused on how advertisers can utilize media buying platforms to drive app engagement and optimize app events. Sarasono explained, “Different channels like Meta, Google, TikTok, and Apple offer varied campaign types, bidding strategies, and operating systems.” He also introduced the audience to essential tools such as Mobile Measurement Platforms (MMP), Software Development Kits (SDK), and Postback Event flow. To illustrate these concepts, Sarasono presented case studies on Meta App Installs and Apple Search Ads in Indonesia’s banking industry.

After a brief coffee break, the event resumed with a session by Ryotaro Suzuki, Manager of South Asian Frontier Market and Indonesia, AnyMind Group. He discussed “2024 Ad Monetization Strategy and Solutions,” focusing on two key strategies: the use of HTML5 Games technology to balance user experience with profitability and the role of mediation in optimizing the value of each impression. He also showcased AnyMind’s solutions for common challenges faced by app publishers in Indonesia, such as utilizing a wide range of demands, maintaining UI/UX, and providing a platform.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, where the audience engaged with the panelists to deepen their understanding of the topics discussed. The interactive session included quizzes led by the MCs to gauge the audience’s grasp of the material. Feedback collected through surveys indicated high satisfaction among attendees, who expressed interest in future events.
