AnyReach holds welcome party & talk session

Creating new value in the e-gifting space through synergy between both companies

In March 2025, AnyReach, which operates e-gifting services such as ‘AnyGift,’ joined AnyMind Group. In early April, both companies held a joint welcome party along with an after-hours talk session featuring AnyMind Group CCO Otohiko Kozutsumi (Oto) and AnyReach CEO Konosuke Nakajima (Nakajima). Here’s a recap of their discussion on the reasons behind AnyReach joining AnyMind and the synergy between their businesses.

From internships doing cold sales in Canada to a new grad PM at Mercari

Oto: First, please tell us about yourself and your background!

Nakajima:I’m Konosuke Nakajima from AnyReach. I studied at Kobe University and spent most of my university life doing internships.

After graduating, I joined Mercari as a new grad, working as a Product Manager on new businesses such as C2C car sales. Later, I moved to a company developing voice applications, gaining about a year of experience in product and growth roles. Then, in 2021, I founded AnyReach.

Oto: I heard you did cold sales in Canada during your internship. Is that true?

Nakajima: Yes, I was selling travel packages to language schools in Canada. At the time, my English was around a TOEIC score of 400, and I managed to get through purely on enthusiasm and perseverance!

Expansion to three solutions focused on e-Gifting

Oto: Could you explain again about the solutions AnyReach provides?

Nakajima: Currently, we offer three gifting services.

AnyGift allows sending gifts without knowing the recipient’s address and can be integrated easily into e-commerce websites using no-code tools.

We also have AnyCampaign, a digital solution for address collection and delivery in promotional campaigns, and AnyGift Wedding, a service replacing traditional wedding favors with cards containing QR codes, allowing guests to select their own gifts.

AnyGift accounts for more than 90% of our revenue, but we intend to expand the other services significantly.

AnyMind and AnyReach: Similar names and services – coincidence?

Oto: What inspired you to start your own company?

Nakajima: Initially, I wasn’t interested in entrepreneurship. But through experiencing new business development at Mercari, I became fascinated with creating something from scratch. Also, seeing my peers from my new-grad cohort start their own businesses inspired me, making me think, “Maybe I can do it too.”

Oto: What was the trigger for joining AnyMind?

Nakajima: In the summer of 2024, I listened to a VC podcast featuring CEO Kosuke Sogo and immediately wanted to meet him. That was our initial connection. I deeply resonated with his vision of rapid business growth and a product-centric growth strategy, seeing strong compatibility with AnyReach’s multiple solutions.

We met for meals several times, including CFO Okawa-san, and discussions progressed from October to November, becoming official around the end of the year.

Oto: Meeting in summer and finalizing by year-end is pretty speedy. Our CFO, Keizo Okawa, is known for calmly asking tough questions… wasn’t that intimidating?

Nakajima: Really?! He was always smiling, so I didn’t feel intimidated at all! (laughs)

A gifting company culture: celebrating employee birthdays

Oto: Is there a particular culture that symbolizes AnyReach?

Nakajima: As a gifting company, we have a culture of celebrating employee birthdays. We buy cakes after our regular all-hands meetings. Last month, there were many birthdays, and we had cake three or four times. It might become challenging as our team grows, but I’d like to establish this culture at AnyMind too!

Oto: What’s the atmosphere and mindset among your employees?

Nakajima: As a startup, it’s definitely about “enthusiasm and grit!” At the end of March, our employees physically carried all our office items by train from Kyobashi, where our office was, to Roppongi, where AnyMind’s office is now. (laughs)

Oto: Wow! You carried everything yourselves?

Nakajima: Yes. Our office had a lot of built-in furniture and supplies, but we thought, “It might be quicker and cheaper to carry it ourselves,” so everyone pitched in with enthusiasm and grit!

From domestic to global: Unlocking potential in the e-gifting sector

Oto: What would you like to accomplish with AnyMind moving forward?

Nakajima: The e-gifting market still has a lot of potential domestically, but international expansion is key. Leveraging AnyMind’s global network, we aim to start expanding overseas.

We also want to continue tackling new business challenges, creating value from a product-driven perspective, including exploring areas like AI. Eventually, I envision these initiatives potentially spinning out into subsidiaries.

Nakajima: Gifting isn’t just about “selling.” It includes support services around gifting, such as wrapping, delivery, and customer service. AnyMind is strong in these operational aspects. By combining AnyReach’s product-driven approach with AnyMind’s operational strengths, we can significantly enhance the value we offer to customers.

Oto: There are so many natural connections between AnyMind’s influencer marketing, advertising, and e-commerce support services and AnyReach’s offerings. There’s unlimited potential for collaboration!

Nakajima: Though we just joined recently, everyone has welcomed us warmly. I look forward to doing exciting things together!

Oto: I’m mostly in Singapore, so I’ll see you there too!

Nakajima: I’d love to visit next week! (laughs)

We will drive forward as one, expanding the new value generated from the synergy between AnyReach and AnyMind from Japan to Asia and globally!
