Google AdSense - The Complete Book of Knowledge (Part 1)

You can earn more income by writing content online via the internet (commonly called blogging). By sharing news or content online, you can attract visitor traffic to your site/blog. If you have been able to attract visitors to your content, site owners can join the Google AdSense program.

Google AdSense is a platform from Google that gives publishers a way to monetize online content. AdSense works with user targeting to match ads promoted by advertisers based on user behavior. These ads are created and paid by advertisers through bidding from ad requests of Google Adwords. With the competition in the bidding function, the price obtained by the publisher will also vary.

a. Online Earnings

As explained, site owners can earn additional income which is affected by various factors. These factors include the level of the number of visitors (traffic) on the site, as well as the price offered by the advertisers. The more specific (niche) the content presented, the more competitive the prices offered by advertisers. For payment processing, site owners can charge direct payments every month with a minimum disbursement of $100 income or equivalent to Rp. 1.4 million.

b. Adjustment of Advertising Content with Website Content

Content is one of the significant things to attract visitors so they can engage on the site. If site owners use AdSense ads, visitors will usually feel annoyed which will reduce space on the content. One of the advantages of joining the Google AdSense program is that the ads that appear will match the content on the site. For example, if the content discusses articles about sports, the ads that are served will also adjust to the sports content.

c. Adjustment of Ad Formats with User Interface Display on the Site

Every website has a website or blog that has different page layout characters to make navigation easier for site visitors. Google AdSense ads have various formats and sizes that can be adjusted to the appearance of the site. In addition, Google AdSense also has matched content ads that resemble content, so site owners can easily adjust the shape, size, background and other elements of the ad.

d. Ease of Analyzing AdSense Ad Performance

Google AdSense has a user-friendly dashboard display to make it easier for site owners to analyze statistics and complete analysis of the ads performance. In this case, the site owner can analyze the number of RPM (Revenue Per Miles), Clicks, and total revenue based on the ads that appear on the web page. So, site owners can make in-depth comparisons with data from their Google Analytics site.

How to Register a Site on Google AdSense

To create a Google AdSense account, site owners only need to have an active email account and website. There are four steps that site owners need to take to register an AdSense account.

1. Creating an AdSense Account

Site owners can directly register to Google AdSense by directly visiting Sign up AdSense and clicking Start. Then, the site owners will immediately be shown a registration form to fill in some details. In this case, the site owner can directly fill in the information based on the website and email you want to register, then click Save & Continue to proceed to the next stage. In this case, the site owner will be shown a verification account again and click the Create Account button.

2. Activate AdSense Account

When the registration process is complete, the site owners will then enter the AdSense dashboard to fill up the information, specifically payment details. It is important for site owners to fill up AdSense payment details correctly, so that revenue payments can be received correctly as well. After clicking the Submit button, the site owners will be asked to copy a few lines of code into the website.

After that, site owners are also asked to copy the AdSense code into their site as an identity to be able to display ads. Once it has been done, the site owner can immediately check the confirmation ‘I’ve pasted the code into my site’, so that Google AdSense can check and audit the site whether Google AdSense is eligible to activate AdSense. The process of waiting for the activation of this account will take about 3 days for Google to provide confirmation via email that the AdSense account has been successfully activated. If the account is rejected, Google will also give the site owner a reason for refusal to resolve the issue from his site first.

Reasons Sites Are Refused To Show AdSense Ads

1. Site contains Policy Violations by Google

There are many types of policy violations that can violate Google’s policies. site owners must have enough text content in one page to display ads. For example, site owners should have complete sentences and paragraphs. Don’t sign up while the site is still under construction and place the AdSense code on a live site, not empty test pages. In addition, sites that contain sexually explicit text, images, audio, video, or games can also be rejected on the grounds of sexual explicit content, so content writers should avoid content that leads to this topic. Not only that, content that contains violence, intimidation and bullies that can trigger physical and mental health in readers is also advised not to be shown. In terms of attracting a lot of traffic sources, site owners are not advised to use third-party services that can generate a lot of clicks and impressions, mass emails, unwanted ads, and using software can trigger pop-ups and site navigation disturbances. 2. Missing or Incomplete Code

The code should be pasted in the HTML on the publisher’s site and placed between the (head)(/head) tags. Make sure the AdSense code has been copied and pasted completely on the site that has been registered with AdSense.

3. Inaccessible Sites

Publishers must ensure that the URLs used are live and correct. The site owners must ensure the site can be displayed and published on the web. Make sure that the crawler login site owner is not blocked in the robot.txt file. In addition, it is also recommended to apply geo-restrictions or IP ranges that can access the content.
