I’m Justin, a student from Temasek Polytechnic, currently pursuing a diploma in Marketing. Over the past five months, I have had the opportunity to intern with the Account Management team at AnyMind Group in Singapore.
I was eager to gain hands-on experience in a real-world business environment. I chose to apply to AnyMind Group because of its dynamic and fast-growing presence in Asia’s tech space, particularly in digital marketing, e-commerce, and influencer marketing. I was excited to challenge myself, gain industry exposure, and apply the business concepts I’ve learned in school to real projects.
Looking back, this internship turned out to be a pivotal learning experience that not only sharpened my professional skills but also gave me deeper clarity about my future career path.
My first impressions of AnyMind Group
Walking into AnyMind’s office in Tanjong Pagar, Singapore, I expected a traditional corporate setup, but what I found was a modern workplace with an open-concept layout that encourages spontaneous conversations and easy communication across teams, which encouraged open communication, cross-team collaboration, and positive energy.
The onboarding process was smooth and structured, and made me feel at ease instantly. From day one, I was given the tools, context, and support I needed to succeed. My colleagues were approachable and eager to help, whether it was answering my questions or offering feedback on my work. There was a strong culture of knowledge-sharing, and I appreciated how the Account Management team regularly collaborated with other functions.
The open communication culture in the company empowered me to contribute ideas, ask questions, and seek clarification when needed. This level of cross-functional collaboration not only enhanced my learning experience but also gave me insight into how different departments work together to deliver integrated marketing solutions.
A day in my life at AnyMind
As an Account Management Intern at AnyMind Group, my role centered around managing client relationships, supporting campaign execution, and developing strategic proposals. From coordinating timelines and liaising with internal teams to ensuring deliverables met client expectations, I was deeply involved in the day-to-day execution of marketing campaigns.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my internship was the chance to work directly with big brands like Canon. In fact, I was responsible for a full digital campaign proposal for a popular Malaysian massage chair brand. I worked on the project end-to-end, conducting market research, brainstorming creative concepts, writing the proposal, and eventually presenting it internally to my manager. This experience not only tested my communication and critical thinking skills but also gave me a taste of what it means to run a project from conception to presentation.
Challenges that shaped me
Leading that project was both exciting and a little intimidating – it was my first time supporting such a project from start to finish. I handled responsibilities from coming up with the strategy to putting together the final presentation. At first, it was tough to balance creative ideas with the client’s expectations, especially with tight deadlines and limited resources. There were definitely moments of doubt, but what truly helped was the support I received. My mentor and teammates were always ready to give feedback, offer guidance, and jump in when needed. With their encouragement, I gradually built the confidence to take initiative and trust my instincts.
Understanding performance data was a challenge at first since I wasn’t familiar with dashboards or reporting tools such as AnyTag and AnyMind’s other platforms. To learn, I shadowed teammates, joined reporting calls, and asked lots of questions. Over time, I picked up how to draw insights from the numbers and started contributing more confidently in campaign discussions.
These challenges became some of the most formative parts of my internship. I strengthened critical soft skills like problem-solving, time management, and professional communication, while also learning how to stay adaptable in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment. More importantly, I learned to embrace challenges as part of growth, and that confidence often follows persistence and learning by doing.
Most memorable moments
Beyond the work itself, I truly valued the day-to-day interactions with my team. Whether it was bouncing ideas off each other during brainstorming sessions, collaborating on tight deadlines, or casual chats after work, those moments built a sense of camaraderie that made the internship experience even more rewarding. The open and supportive office culture created an environment where I felt comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions, and constantly learning.
Overall reflection
Reflecting on this internship, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity. It was a perfect bridge between academic learning and real-world application. I learned how to manage client expectations, communicate clearly, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I gained hands-on experience leading projects, collaborating with diverse teams, and navigating challenges under tight deadlines.
This internship not only deepened my passion for learning but also helped me identify areas where I can continue to grow.
For future interns at AnyMind Group:
My advice is to be proactive and open-minded from day one. Take every opportunity to ask questions, seek feedback, and get involved in different projects, even if they seem outside your comfort zone. The fast-paced, tech-driven environment can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding for those willing to learn and adapt quickly. Building strong relationships with your mentors and colleagues will open doors to valuable insights and support, ultimately making an eventful and meaningful internship experience.
