The second edition of the OTV Insight Awards brought together some of Odisha’s most compelling digital voices and if the energy in the room was any indication, India’s regional creator economy is only just getting started. AnyMind Group was proud to be part of this milestone event, represented by Tushnik Thakur, Deputy Head of Content and Creator Business, India. Tushnik took the stage alongside Ravi Raj, Strategic Partnerships Manager at YouTube, to co-deliver a keynote that cut right to the heart of where the creator ecosystem is heading: “From YouTuber to Creator Business: Build. Scale. Monetize.”
OTV Insight is a flagship initiative by Odisha Television Network (OTV), designed to recognise and celebrate outstanding digital content creators across the state. Focused on innovation, influence, creativity, and social impact, the programme is a powerful platform for empowering Odisha’s fast-growing digital ecosystem, giving regional influencers the visibility, voice, and validation they truly deserve.
The 2nd edition of the Insights Awards made one thing unmistakably clear: the next wave of creator-led growth in India is not a metro phenomenon. It’s regional, it’s authentic, and it’s arriving fast.

What stood out most at this year’s event wasn’t just the scale of creators in the room — it was how they were thinking about their work. Creators today are no longer simply chasing views and subscriber counts. They’re beginning to think like businesses.
Tushnik and Ravi’s keynote explored this evolution in depth, drawing on platform insights, monetisation realities, and the changing expectations of both creators and their audiences. The core message was both simple and transformative: the real opportunity for creators — and for the ecosystem that supports them, lies in the leap from being a YouTuber to building a creator-led business.
The keynote unpacked three interconnected pillars that define the next chapter of creator success:
Build — Moving beyond content creation to building intellectual property. A creator’s biggest asset is not their subscriber count; it’s the world, community, and trust they’ve built around their identity. Building an IP means thinking about how that identity can outlive any single platform or algorithm cycle.
Scale — Diversifying revenue streams so that a creator’s income is not hostage to a single source. Sponsorships and ad revenue are a starting point, not a destination. Merchandise, digital products, community memberships, branded collaborations, and commerce integrations all represent paths toward sustainable scale.
Monetize — Approaching revenue with strategy and data. Understanding which audience segments convert, which formats drive intent, and how to align content performance with commercial outcomes is what separates creators who grow from those who plateau. Tools like AnyTag help bridge exactly this gap — giving creators and brands a shared data layer to identify the right partnerships and measure what’s actually working.

One of the most energising insights from the event was the undeniable rise of non-metro creators. For too long, the spotlight in India’s creator economy has skewed toward major cities. But the authenticity, depth, and loyalty that regional creators command, in their own languages, speaking to their own communities, is increasingly where brands and platforms alike are finding the highest-quality engagement.
Odisha TV’s commitment to celebrating this cohort through OTV Insight is not just an awards programme. It is an investment in the infrastructure of India’s next creator generation. And AnyMind Group shares that conviction deeply.
We’ll say plainly what a lot of the industry dances around.
Most creator marketing today is still guesswork dressed up as strategy. Brands pick creators based on follower counts and aesthetic fit. Campaigns are measured on impressions that nobody truly believes translate to business outcomes. And the creator ecosystem, despite its enormous commercial potential, remains fragmented, opaque, and chronically underinvested in the markets that are actually growing fastest.
We think that’s a fixable problem. And fixing it is what AnyMind is built to do.
Our position is this: creator partnerships should be held to the same commercial rigour as any other marketing investment. That means data-validated creator selection, not gut feel. It means performance measurement tied to real business outcomes, not vanity metrics. And it means building brand relationships with creators who have genuine audience trust, not just audience size.
Through AnyTag, we give brands a shared data layer with creators, so that decisions about who to partner with are grounded in audience composition, engagement quality, and category relevance, not just reach. Through AnyCreator, we help creators build the business infrastructure that makes them better, more accountable brand partners over time.
We’re also direct about what we see in the data. The highest-performing partnerships on our platform aren’t always the biggest names. They’re creators with deep contextual resonance and right now, a disproportionate share of those creators are regional, underleveraged, and significantly underpriced relative to the value they actually deliver. That gap won’t last. The brands moving into this space now are building equity in communities their competitors haven’t found yet.
The creator economy doesn’t need more hype. It needs better infrastructure, smarter measurement, and industry partners willing to back that with conviction. That’s what we showed up to OTV Insight to say. And it’s what we build towards every day.
The bottom line.
The regional creator economy in India is not a future opportunity. It’s a current one. The brands that move now, with the right data, the right partnerships, and a more sophisticated view of what creator marketing actually means, will build equity in communities their competitors are still sleeping on.
The playbook is changing. The question is whether your strategy is changing with it.
