Beyond the Traineeship: From Account Management Trainee to Account Management Executive

Meet Nguyễn Thảo Uyên Phương, who joined AnyMind through the Traineeship Program 2026 as an Account Management Trainee and has since grown into an Account Executive.

Throughout her journey, Phương worked across multiple projects, collaborated with clients and different teams, and gradually took on more ownership of campaign execution.

From feeling overwhelmed during her first month to becoming more confident in managing projects and solving problems independently, Phương’s journey shows what can happen when you’re willing to step out of your comfort zone, ask for help, and keep learning.

Real Work, Real Journey from Day 1

I wanted to join a place where I could learn a lot, work across different industries, and experience an open, international culture. What attracted me to AnyMind was its ecosystem where marketing, technology, platforms, and e-commerce come together. I felt like it would allow me to explore beyond just one area of work.

Being a Trainee wasn’t just about supporting the team. At one point, I was handling 3 – 4 projects simultaneously, working with different brands and stakeholders.

My day-to-day work included:

• Preparing proposals and quotations
• Communicating with clients
• Coordinating with KOLs, AMs, and creative teams
• Supporting campaign planning and execution
• Following projects from planning → execution

Since every project came with different requirements, I was constantly learning and adapting.

Hard skills? Definitely.

Soft skills? Absolutely.

Ownership? A lot more than I expected

Real Challenges, Real Opportunities

Honestly, my first month was quite overwhelming.There were so many deadlines and stakeholders involved from clients, KOLs, creative teams, etc. At one point, I came to the office and literally didn’t know where to start because everything felt urgent.

I shared this with my mentors, and they helped me adjust my workload and showed me how to handle things step by step.

They didn’t just tell me what to do. They showed me how to solve the problem myself. Whenever I was struggling, they were willing to step in, adjust my workload, and guide me through the situation. That taught me that asking for help is also part of learning.

Real Growth, From Trainee to Account Executive

I’m much more confident in handling clients, coordinating with internal teams, and solving problems. I’ve also become faster at identifying potential risks and, most importantly, learned to look at problems more objectively instead of taking everything personally.

Of course, I learned how to:

• Manage clients
• Prepare proposals and quotations
• Coordinate with internal teams
• Manage projects
• Work with different stakeholders

But the bigger change was how I approached problems. As a student, I sometimes took feedback or challenges personally. Now, when a client raises an issue, I can take a step back and ask: “What is actually happening, and what can I do about it?” I became more comfortable identifying problems, anticipating risks and making decisions.

Real Impact

One project that I really enjoyed was a Social Outreach campaign with an FMCG brand. Because I understood the product quite deeply, I felt more confident when proposing ideas and giving recommendations to the client. That was when I realized that the more you understand the business, the more value you can bring to the project.

Building a Career at AnyMind

I feel that the scope of work fits what I want to learn, and I really enjoy working with the people here. There’s also still a lot for me to explore and improve, so I see my journey at AnyMind as something that’s just getting started.

I’d say the people. The culture is young and open, so it’s easy to talk to people across different levels and teams. Everyone is quite supportive, and there’s always someone you can reach out to when you need help.

Just do it. Don’t step back just because something looks difficult. If you don’t know, ask. You learn by actually doing things. And most importantly, trust yourself. You don’t need to know everything from Day 1. Just be willing to learn, try, and keep going.
