Beyond The Traineeship: Journey from Intern to Influencer Project Management Associate Manager

Beyond The Traineeship: Journey from Intern to Influencer Project Management Associate Manager

Careers often begin with curiosity and grow through real experience. For many young talents, the opportunity to work on real campaigns from day one becomes the foundation for long-term growth.

One example is Tran Thi Lam Nguyen, who first joined AnyMind Group in Vietnam as an intern and has since grown into an Influencer Project Management Associate Manager.

Through hands-on experiences, collaboration with creators and clients, and the support of technology platforms like AnyTag, Nguyen’s journey reflects how early exposure to real projects can quickly turn learning into meaningful impact.

Starting the Journey at AnyMind Group

Why did you choose AnyMind for your internship?

When I first joined, I honestly didn’t know much about AnyMind Group. But after starting the internship, I quickly realized how much opportunity there was to learn.

What stood out to me most while working in AnyMind Group was the openness of the environment. Instead of just observing, interns were encouraged to participate in real projects.

That exposure helped me understand how influencer marketing campaigns actually work behind the scenes – from working with creators to managing timelines and client expectations. It was a huge opportunity to learn and push myself early in my career.

Growing Through Hands-on Experiences

What aspects of AnyMind Group helped you grow the most?

The biggest driver of my growth has definitely been the people and the opportunities to work on real projects. The team was always supportive and willing to share their knowledge, which made it much easier for me to learn quickly.

At the same time, the diversity of campaigns meant that I constantly had to adapt and improve. Because influencer marketing projects involve creators, brands, platforms, and internal teams, every campaign becomes a great learning experience in coordination and problem-solving.

Over time, I learned how to manage multiple stakeholders while keeping campaigns running smoothly.

How did your managers and mentors support your development?

My mentor didn’t have a specific coaching playbook, but what helped me most was the trust she gave me. She allowed me to try things on my own and more importantly, to make mistakes. Sometimes you only realize what you don’t know after facing a real challenge. That experience helped me understand where I needed to improve and how to approach problems more effectively. Having the freedom to learn through real experience helped me build confidence much faster.

What was the biggest challenge you faced, and how did you overcome it?

Influencer marketing campaigns can become very intense, especially when multiple campaigns run at the same time.

There are many parts involved — creators, timelines, deliverables, approvals and everything needs to stay on track. But what helped me overcome those moments was the strong support from my team. Whenever things became overwhelming, my manager and teammates were always there to support me. That teamwork helped ensure we could still deliver high-quality campaigns even during busy periods.

How have you changed since joining AnyMind?

Looking back, I’ve changed a lot since my first day. I started as someone who was quite hesitant and unsure of myself. But after working on many campaigns, my mindset gradually shifted to a more confident “I can do it” attitude.

Handling diverse projects helped me build stronger project management skills, from coordinating creators to solving unexpected issues during campaign execution.

I also learned how important teamwork is. Instead of focusing only on my own tasks, I started to understand how each team contributes to the overall campaign outcome.

How would you describe AnyMind’s working culture?

AnyMind Group is definitely fast-paced. Things move quickly, and there are always new projects or challenges coming up.

But the culture is also very open and collaborative. People are encouraged to share ideas, support each other, and continuously improve how things are done. That combination of speed and openness creates a great environment for learning and growth.

Creating Real Business Impact

What projects or moments made you feel your work truly created an impact?

The projects that stand out the most to me are usually the ones where I experienced something completely new.

One memorable campaign involved experimenting with AI-related applications within an influencer campaign. It was new territory for both the team and the client, so we had to build everything from scratch. The setup process was challenging, but seeing the campaign successfully launch made all the effort worth it.

Moments like that remind me how influencer marketing continues to evolve with new technology and new ways to engage audiences.

What makes AnyMind’s business model valuable for young talent?

One thing that makes AnyMind unique is the ecosystem.

Instead of working in a very siloed structure, projects here often involve collaboration across multiple teams — strategic planning, creative, influencer marketing, media, and commerce. That exposure helps young talents understand how different parts of marketing come together to create real business outcomes.

Technology also plays an important role. Platforms like AnyTag help teams manage influencer campaigns with more structure and visibility, from identifying creators to tracking campaign performance. Having access to that kind of data and tools makes it easier to understand what works and how campaigns can be improved.

Because of this combination of people, technology, and cross-functional collaboration, the learning curve can be quite steep. You’re not only learning how to run campaigns, but also how different pieces of the marketing ecosystem connect to drive results.

Building a Career at AnyMind

What made you decide to continue your career at AnyMind?

The biggest reason was the growth opportunities. Every project brings new challenges, which means there is always something new to learn.

At the same time, the people here made a big difference. The collaborative culture and strong team support made me feel confident continuing my journey here.

What advice would you give to young talents interested in strategic planning?

Influencer marketing is a very dynamic industry. Platforms evolve, creator trends change, and campaigns become more complex.

So my advice would be to stay curious and open to learning. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to try new things. The more hands-on experience you gain from real campaigns, the faster you will grow.
