#TeamAnyMind: Shodai Fujita (Executive, Advertiser Engagement, AdAsia Holdings)

#TeamAnyMind drops by the HCMC, Vietnam office to speak with Shodai Fujita. Find out about his love for football and future career goals here:

Hey everybody! My name is Shodai Fujita. A lot of my friends just call me by my first name. I was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan and graduated from university around half a year ago. I joined AnyMind Group’s AdAsia Holdings, full-time in April 2018.

I’ve experienced a lot of exciting things in my life such as a long-term internship for a startup company, studying abroad in Italy, etc. These experiences gave me the motivation to work in a startup company somewhere outside of Japan. That is why I decided to join AnyMind Group and AdAsia Holdings.

A New Challenge Every Day

In my role as Adveriser Engagement, I basically provide marketers and advertisers with the consultation and tools to drive increased outcomes and returns for them. What I do sounds pretty simple, but it’s not as simple as it sounds.

My daily activities include engaging with new clients, determining client’s wants and needs, coming up with the best solutions for each client, and making a sound and trusting relationship with them. All these things are not something you can learn to do well in just a single day. It is an always-on learning journey, but that’s why I like what I do.

A Whirlwind Decision and Life-Changing Event

AnyMind Group and AdAsia Holding totally changed my life. When I joined as an intern, I had already received a job offer from an American consulting firm. If I were to join the consulting firm and looked ahead to the next decade, I saw myself making a lot of money and having a busy but stable life. Somehow though, I decided to jump into a two-year-old foreign startup and ended up starting my career here in Vietnam – a country I had never visited previously. Sounds a bit silly, but I am quite confident that I made a good decision.

Lifelong Love for Football

When I was young, my dream was always to be a professional football player. It took me quite a long time to give it up. I played football for almost 13 years – since I was six-years-old, but finally I decided to do something else when I turned 19.

In my free time I still play futsal and football with my new friends in Vietnam. People say football is more than just a ball and two goals, it connects people from all corners of the world. In a way, it’s its own language. Football has helped me make a lot of new friends in my new environment.

Pushing Forward and Always Striving to Improve

In the future, I would like to be one of the key members at AnyMind Group. This is one of the goals that I set for myself when I joined. Do one thing every day that scares you! I believe challenging myself and learning something new every day will help me to improve myself. In regards to my personal life, I’m crossing my fingers and hope to make a girlfriend soon! Cheers and thanks for reading!
