Senior Accouting Executive

The Senior Accouting Executive is responsible for end-to-end general ledger operations, with ownership of the balance sheet and a central role in the monthly close process. This role covers bank reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany cross-charging, fixed assets, subledger management, and tax compliance administration. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the books are accurate, complete, and closed on time each month, while also supporting managerial reporting and employee expense processes.

What You Will Do

 

Bank Reconciliation
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring balances per the accounting system and bank statements are fully tallied and reconciling items are identified and cleared on a timely basis.
Month-End Closing
  • Prepare and post journal entries (JEs) as part of the month-end closing routine, including accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, and adjusting entries.
  • Prepare monthly JE adjustments to correctly classify transactions in accordance with the chart of accounts and accounting policies.
  • Own and follow the month-end closing checklist/routine, ensuring all deadlines are met and supporting schedules are complete.
Balance Sheet & Subledgers
  • Take ownership of assigned balance sheet accounts, ensuring all balances are supported, reconciled, and properly documented each month.
  • Maintain and reconcile subledgers (e.g. AP, AR, fixed assets, prepayments) against the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Fixed Assets
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and transfers.
  • Calculate and post monthly depreciation, and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the GL.
Intercompany Cross-Charging
  • Prepare and issue intercompany invoices to recharge costs to other entities within the group.
  • Record and account for recharge expenses received from other entities.
  • Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled and supported by proper documentation.
Employee Advances & Claims
  • Review advance payments to employees, ensuring proper approval and tracking of outstanding balances.
  • Review employee expense claims, verifying supporting documentation and ensuring timely clearing of advances against claims.
Managerial Reporting
  • Prepare and compile data to support managerial reporting, including cost breakdowns and other analyses requested by management.
  • Assist the finance team in tracking actual costs against budget for specific marketing campaigns or projects.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in general ledger accounting, month-end closing, or accounting administration.
  • Solid understanding of accounting entries, accruals, reconciliations, fixed assets, and Withholding Tax (WHT) regulations.
  • Experience with intercompany transactions and balance sheet reconciliations is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables). Experience with NetSuite is a major plus.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy with numbers, and strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work to a monthly close deadline and manage multiple accounting workstreams simultaneously.
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills for cross-team and vendor coordination.
